The University of Hamburg supports its international students on their way to the successful completion of their degrees with degree completion scholarships.
Conditions for applying for the grant:
Persons eligible for funding are students:
- Be enrolled at the University of Hamburg
- Are not German citizens;
- Not eligible for BAföG (Federal Student Loan Scheme);
- Preparing or in the final examination phase of their studies;
- They do not have financial support during this stage (proof required).
- International students studying fee-based degree programs are eligible for this scholarship in exceptional cases, but will not have priority in making the selection. This item includes students studying in English at university or any other program that requires payment of international fees.
Funding and Grant Application:
Scholarship Funding:
- Certificate completion scholarships are awarded if you have been in the final years of graduation, usually for a period of 6 months. The monthly funding amount ranges from 200 € to a maximum of 720 €.
- If the final examination is not completed within 6 months, an extension may be requested. The maximum finance period is 12 months.
- Students with Diploma, Master’s, or Staatsexamen degrees can apply for a 12-month scholarship with the first application.
